Princesses, Prophets, and Bunnies

We celebrated Carly's 4th birthday. She's into all things princess, so of course we had a princess party. I got a little lazy and made these cupcakes instead of a full-on decorated cake this year. But last year I made a castle cake and I just couldn't think of something else princessy for her this year. She was excited none-the-less.

The birthday girl waiting for her guests to arrive.

SO excited!

The princesses... being princesses. :)

We also had our own little Easter Egg Hunt this year. I just didn't want to fight the gobs of people at the city hunts... So a few moms and I got some eggs together and had our own hunt. We were suppose to do it at a park, but it was so dang windy and cold, we ended up just going to the church. It was a success either way.

And we had a pretty successful General Conference weekend as well. Here's Spence all raring to go with one of his conference activities.

Carly showing off hers.

Sunday was Carly's actual birthday, so we got her another cake- a yummy ice cream cake. She loved it.

Carly also got this doll house for her birthday. She loves it so far. (So does Spencer- HA!)

Easter was a success! Kyle was just excited about his Reese's Egg that the Easter Bunny brought.

Coloring eggs.

And this is Parker posing for the camera. Mid-CHEESE!

Aloha!

For some reason we don't remember much about our trip.... but I'll see what I can do.

Here's the front room/kitchen to the place we stayed. It was great! We each had our own rooms/bathrooms. We'd totally stay here again.

And this, my friends, was the view we had from our room. Ahh.... it was easy waking up to this every morning.

Jim and Julie (Kyle's parents) came with us and we all had so much fun.

Standing on one of our balconies.

Palm Trees.

We went to a Luau on Monday night. It was so much fun! We got all the free drinks we wanted and we totally took advantage! We were so giddy that we got something for free, that we acted more drunk than the people who actually had alcohol in theirs.

We also rented boogie boards for a few days and went to the beach and tried out our skills.

We saw a TON of whales while we were there. It was so amazing! We could see them from our hotel room too. It's whale season in Maui and I guess 80% of the humpback whale population head to Maui during this time. We were so lucky that that is when we were there too! I LOVED seeing the whales. We got some awesome video of them too.

Watching the ocean

Cool Sunset

Scenery. This was on the road to Hana. It was a pretty crazy, long ride, but the views were pretty incredible.

We went snorkeling one of the days and they took us to a place called Turtle Town where, yes, we saw some pretty huge sea turtles.
We also snorkeled at Molokini. AND, while we were snorkeling, we'd put our heads in the water and hear the whales! So cool!

Me and Kyle looking pretty good in our snorkeling gear.

Julie and Kyle swimming in the middle of the ocean. The boat that we took is in the background.

Kyle getting his snorkel on.

Me chilling on the stairs on the boat, getting ready to board to go to the next place.

Kyle on the boat- just sailing along, watching whales.

Self-portrait on the boat.

Just outside where we stayed.

The Road to Hana.

The road to Hana again.

More pretty scenery

One of the cool places we saw was Black Beach. It was really pretty and cool to see.

Black Beach again

We went to the Maui Ocean Center on our last day while we were waiting to catch our airplane. This is just to show you how big the whales are.

Again, at the Ocean Center.

And we became addicted to these lovely drinks while in Hawaii. The Lava Flow. Mmm... this is a picture of the last ones we had. Sad.

The End
We took almost 300 pictures while there, so even though this is a TON of pictures, it's not even close. But I'll spare you. :)
We had such a fantastic time and are now looking for jobs there. HA. I wish!

May the Force Be With You!

We celebrated Spencer's 7th Birthday and he requested a Star Wars party. So, us, being the fabulous parents that we are, obliged.

The light saber cake.

Some of the Jedis. They wouldn't hold still long enough for a group picture. :)

Eating the cake and having ice cream

During Jedi Training

This picture just makes me laugh. Kyle (who I must say is the BEST dad and a super good sport) dressed up as Darth Vader and fought each kid, one on one. Then they all attacked him and let's just say that Darth Vader was defeated in quite a battle. (Seriously, everytime I think about it I laugh out loud, it was SOOO great!) Just picture him with dark clothes on, a darth vader mask that was so fogged up, he couldn't see, a black fitted sheet over him, getting pummeled by 12 sevenish year olds with pipe insulators dressed up as light sabers... are you laughing? You should be!
Overall, I think the party was a success. And I overheard one of the Jedis telling another Jedi that this was the best birthday party he's ever been to. Ahh... success!

I Like To Giggle

And this guy is one of the many reasons I giggle everyday!
